Day 5 - Friday
We kicked off the morning with another energetic dance party to get everyone awake, moving, and ready for the day ahead.
Once everyone was warmed up, campers took on a hilarious challenge: a game of “Capture the Donut!”
With donuts hanging from strings, campers had to race to finish theirs using only their mouths—no hands allowed! The activity had everyone laughing and cheering each other on while enjoying a little friendly competition.
Next, campers headed out on a field trip to Lufka, where they had the opportunity to create their very own custom candles.
Each camper selected a combination of essential oils to create a unique scent before learning about the candle-making process and pouring their creations.
It was a fun hands-on activity that allowed everyone to express their creativity while making a special keepsake to take home.
After returning to Doglando, it was time to give the dogs a chance to stretch their legs, run around, and enjoy a well-deserved potty break before the afternoon adventures began.
Once everyone was settled, campers headed to Marketplace at Avalon Park for lunch, where the dogs experienced one of their very first public outings.
This was an excellent opportunity for campers to practice handling skills in a real-world environment while helping their dogs build confidence around new sights, sounds, people, and distractions.
On the way back, we made a quick stop at 7-Eleven to hang up Camp Doglando flyers and help spread the word about our program within the community.
As a special surprise, the campers were generously treated to free Slurpees, making for a refreshing and unexpected highlight of the day!
Back at Doglando, we welcomed The Adagio Way, who graciously hosted a mat Pilates class for our campers.
The session provided a fun way to relax, improve balance and flexibility, and introduce campers to the importance of movement, mindfulness, and taking care of their own well-being after an exciting week of activities.
To wrap up the day, campers worked together to clean and organize the barn, demonstrating responsibility and teamwork while preparing everything for the weekend.
With the barn looking great and another successful day complete, campers packed up and headed home with their camp dogs, ready to enjoy a weekend together and continue building the incredible partnerships they’ve developed throughout the week.
