Day 6 - Monday
We started the morning by giving all of our camp dogs a chance to run, play, and enjoy a potty break after arriving on campus.
Once everyone had settled in, campers and dogs jumped right into training by practicing crate-to-bed exercises.
Dogs learned to confidently transition from their crate to their designated bed while campers gradually introduced a variety of distractions to reinforce focus and reliability.
It was exciting to see how much progress each team has made, with many dogs showing increased confidence and responsiveness compared to the beginning of camp.

For lunch, campers packed their meals and headed out on a field trip to In Harmony With Nature, where they had the opportunity to learn all about wolves.
During the visit, they explored the physical characteristics of wolves, discussed their behaviors, and learned about the important role wolves play within their ecosystems.
Campers also compared wolf behavior to that of domestic dogs, helping them better understand how canine instincts and communication have evolved over time.
It was a fascinating experience that encouraged thoughtful discussions and gave campers a deeper appreciation for the animals they work with every day.

Back at Doglando, the afternoon focused on teamwork—but this time with each other!
Campers participated in several team-building activities designed to strengthen communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.
They worked together to complete challenges such as standing up simultaneously without using their hands or speaking and tying their shoes together before attempting to walk as a team.
These fun activities highlighted the importance of patience, cooperation, and effective communication while providing plenty of laughs along the way.
To wrap up the day, campers paired up for a “getting to know you” activity where they interviewed one another and shared fun facts, interests, and experiences.
This gave everyone the opportunity to learn more about their fellow campers, strengthen friendships, and continue building the supportive community that has made Camp Doglando so special.
More adventures tomorrow!
