Day 9 - Thursday
We started the morning by getting everyone ready for the day ahead.
Once all of the campers arrived at Doglando, they packed up their gear and gave their dogs a chance to burn off some energy with a run down the grass strip before settling in for the one-hour drive to Menard-May Park.

When we arrived, our friends at AwaKayak Tours had the kayaks ready to go.
Campers got fitted into their kayaks, learned important ocean and water safety guidelines, and received instructions on proper paddling techniques before launching onto the water.
Once everyone was comfortable, we officially began our kayaking adventure, working together to navigate the waterways while taking in the beautiful scenery.

After plenty of paddling, we arrived at Rotary Island for a well-earned break.
Campers enjoyed lunch, rehydrated, and spent time relaxing while their dogs soaked up the salty breeze and enjoyed the new sights, sounds, and smells of the island.

Following lunch, it was time to make the journey back. Campers worked together as they paddled back to shore, putting the skills they had learned earlier in the day into practice.
Once everyone reached land, we loaded the dogs back into the vehicles, thanked our wonderful friends at AwaKayak Tours for an amazing experience, and headed back to campus.

To finish the day, campers jumped right into barn chores as we continued preparing for tomorrow’s graduation celebration.
After everything was cleaned and organized, everyone cooled off with a refreshing swim in the pool, spending the rest of the afternoon playing games, laughing with friends, and making the most of another fantastic day at camp.
More tomorrow,
